If you get a 12 hour layover with a flight, will you get a complimentary hotel stay?

It all depends on several things. First, the season of your flight, wether its a high season or a low season. If you're flying during the high season chances are they will not provide you with a hotel. Second, it depends on the conditions of your tickets and the policy of the airlines. Every airlines have different rules about this so I'd say check with them first.





When I flew from Atlanta to Jakarta, Indonesia with an over 12 hours layover in Korea they did provided me with a free hotel stay but I had to waited for several days before they could confirmed the hotel since it was during the high season and it depends on the hotel itself if they have already fully booked (the airlines usually have some kind of a deal with the hotel of how many rooms they can give to their passenger).
It depends on A%26gt; Class of carriage, B%26gt; Airline and C%26gt; Options. If the 12 hour layover is the only option for that route, then I have seen it offered. If however, your choices include a shorter layover and you opt for the longer one, you usually cannot get one. It's more often the non-US airlines who offer this, btw, and I have not heard of it recently. (I should note that it's not really free, it's usually priced into the route. Also it's more common for first class - go figure :) )

Singapore used to - and maybe still does - do that routinely for layovers of more than four hours. They have - or had - multiple hotels they operated just for that purpose. I stayed it one. It was OK.





I know (even if it shocks frozen.f) some other airlines have done that in the past and, like I said, may still. It certainly can't hurt to ask. But I don't think you'll find it except on long-haul international itineraries.
Usually only if it is a special deal, or if there is an unintentional or company faulted error or cancellation/delay.... and even then it might be pulling teeth to get a complementary stay if the delay is less than 24 hours. I have been tossed around through hell with airlines before.
My husband and I did when there was a layover for our connecting flight in Germany. Lufthansa gave us complimentary hotel, dinner and breakfast. Not everyone was so lucky, I guess we just knew the right things to say.
Only a few carriers do this, I flew with emirates and they paid for a night hotel in paris for me. But you really need to check with the carrier.
I was shocked to read the previous answers...we can't even get an extra pound of luggage these days...good luck with the hotel!!!
