Hotel stay and shopping in Singapore?

I'm going to Singapore on the 15th Dec, so I will need a lot of ideas about Singapore.


I plan to stay near Orchard road since there are many shopping malls there, am I right?


Tell me the malls there that are not too expensive to shop, I'm just a 19 year old guy going with his girlfriend on a trip.


By the way, is there a cheap hotel ranging from 70SGD - 130SGD?


It must be near Orchard road since I want it to be convenient!


Geylang is appropriate but I hope I stay in a hotel where there aren't many prostitution activities by that area.


Please advice me and recommend me hotels.
