Which is good, safe area around Denver,CO for hotel stay for few days?

I am moving to Denver,CO and will be staying intially for few days in Hotel. I want the hotel to be cheap, maybe from priceline.com(bidding) and also want it to be in good safe area. There are few areas like Aurora,Cherry Creek ,Littleton,Stapleton,Westminster - Broomfield . Which is best?Which is good, safe area around Denver,CO for hotel stay for few days?
Suburbs like Littleton, Lakewood, Westminster and Broomfield are very nice residential areas and would be safe. Cherry Creek is in the city of Denver and is a pretty upscale area, very nice to stay in. Aurora has its good areas and bad, so it's hard to recommend.





Have you checked out www.tripadvisor.com? They have a great website with lots of reviews and information on hotels and restaurants. It depends on which city you need to be near. Some areas of Aurora can get dangerous at night, and I personally don't recommend the Stapleton area. Westminster and Broomfield are generally pretty safe most of the time, as is Cherry Creek, though hotels in that area are kind of expensive. I hope that helps!
I haven't been to denver but I think the best bet is to check out http://www.linkforwards.com/hotels - it will let you search for hotels and prices and will also let you check out what areas the hotels are next to. They usually find me some good prices.
Well, Boulder is a great area to stay but I wouldn't call it cheap. You might want to stay somewhere near where you are moving to. I live in Longmont so I don't know good/safe the closer you get to Denver.....Aurora is in the news a lot - usually involving something bad. Cherry Creek is a good area but won't be cheap.
My husband and I moved to Littleton, CO in March. When we were apartment hunting we stayed at the Fairfield Inn on County Line Road (7056 East County Line, Highlands Ranch , CO 80126) 1-303-290-6700. Their staff was the nicest hotel staff I have ever met (no kidding and I worked in a hotel for years). Their housekeepers played with our kids and they were always helpful with directions or a dinner suggestion. There was a snow storm when we were there and one of the staff not only lent us his snow brush for our rental he brushed the car off himself.





The price was very competitive I felt, especially for the area. Denver hotels seem to be quite expensive.





Highlands Ranch is a very nice area of Denver. They have lots of good shopping down the road at the Park Meadows mall.





We spent our first night in the area (before we found the Fairfield Inn) at a Holiday Inn (7390 W Hamden at Wadsworth, Lakewood, CO 80227, 1-303-980-9200) which was nice as well. We had a few problems with being put in a handicaped room with no tub (we have young children and so that was a problem) the rooms were small as well, but they were very nicely furnished and the staff was reasonably polite. They have a resturant and bar on the premisis which is handy. The room was only about $80 and that was a weekend.





The areas you have mentioned are all very nice, keep in mind that Aurora is on the east side of the city, Cherry Creek is kind of right in Denver, Littleton is southwest (foothills area), Westminster is north. This is not to say it is by any means difficult to get to ';Denver'; from any of these locations, probably no more than 20 minutes from any of the areas mentioned.
