Hi why not have a look on www.tripadvisor.co.uk just type in the search bar Greater Manchester Hotels and read the reviews of people who have stayed in hotels in Manchester

The Ibis is ok - whatever you do, don't stay in the Novotel, its awful!
The Palace has the most style. It is a grade II listed building (it was an insurance firm originally) and still has the original tiles on the walls in the public areas. The rooms are a bit quirky because they were designed originally as offices (and they have very high ceilings).

Ibis hotels are fine though too.
I been at the Palace twice and it was really a good choice.
