What garantees do you have with this kind of ';good deals';? Why they don't tell you which hotel untill you purchase your package?Is it safe to buy hotel stay with Hotwire.com?

I was the manager at a hotel that allowed hotwire reservations and I can tell you that it is secure to book your reservation through the site, BUT you should know that you probably won't get the room that you want.





Your reservation will come through as a ';standard room'; meaning that you will get what the hotel has available. You will not be able to upgrade once you get to the hotel because the hotel has no control over the reservation that was made. You can't call the hotel and cancel, you have to cancel directly through hotwire (even if it's a last minute cancellation) and since you have alread paid for the hotel, it will take days (if not weeks) to get the money back.





While you may getting a few bucks off by booking through hotwire, it isn't really worth the hassle. I suggest you check the hotels in the area and choose the hotel that you want to stay at. Book through the hotels online reservations system (most of them run special online only deals), this will assure you that you are getting what you want!
Why don't you just go to a more popular website like www.expedia.com if you have never heard of the website, don't trust them with your vacation. The hotel itself could ruin your vacation!!
