Can you use another persons credit card to pay for a hotel stay?

I was going to use my grandmothers credit card to stay at this hotel in NYC....Can you use another persons credit card to pay for a hotel stay?
It depends on the hotel... I used to work in one. If you have written permission with a signature of the person whose cad you are using, and have id showing you are the one they are letting use the card, then probably, but again...depends on the hotel...

Your best bet is to call the hotel. If they say no, suggest the idea from above, they may talk it over with a manager and allow it. Otherwise pay with cash, if you don't have a credit card.

Either way, you need id.Can you use another persons credit card to pay for a hotel stay?
You might be able to if the clerk does not ask for ID. A lot of them don't. But more do than don't. Why don't you just ask your grandmother to pay for it. Or are you stealing from her? SHAME if you are.
ehh, you could run into some serious trouble that way...:/
I would try and do it over the phone, but if you are there in person then they may ask for ID to prove that you are the person whose name is written on the card.
no
Yes, depending on the hotel chain. I did this for a cousin who was in California and I was in Michigan. I called them and asked what I had to do to pay for the room. I had to fax them a copy of my Driver license and both sides of the credit card then everything was cool. You may have to get your granny to do the same thing with her ID Good luck
The short answer is 'Yes', if you really meant to ask the question like this: ';Can someone else pay for my hotel stay by his/her credit card?';. As a matter of fact I just paid for my daughter's stay at one of the hotels in PA today by a credit card. When I had to do this six months ago, the reception clerk requested that I fax them a copy of my driver's license and a credit card itself, but this time I called them about an hour prior to my daughter arriving explaining that I am paying for her stay, and they said that there wouldn't be any trouble. They just took my phone number just in case.
