Don't they have TRAVEL AGENTS where you live? They are usually a good source to MAKE HOTEL RESERVATIONS through.
There are 2 types of Peso used in Cuba.. the CUC or Convertible Peso which is more valuable than your Canadian money and the MONEDA NACIONAL which is 24 to 1 exchange for the CUC and is only used for small purchases... ice cream or street food.
The exchange penalty for using U.S. Dollars is 20 PERCENT.. so it's heafty.
