How do I figure what 10% off of our hotel stay?

We are staying in a hotel for 3 nights the grand total w/ tax is 214.83. Since we are staying 3 nights they take off 10%. How do I figure out what that will be?

10% of 214.83 is 21.48. so 214.83 - 21.48 = 193.35 approx.

whats easier is to times the amount (214.83) by .9 and that will give you the 10% off value. How do I figure what 10% off of our hotel stay?
Well, often when you are taking percentages off it does not include the tax, so you would need the grand total without the tax added. But in general...

214.83 x .10 = 21.48

214.83 - 21.48 = 193.35

Just a matter of moving the decimal one place, I hope this answers your question.
multiply 214.83 by .10

that means the total they are taking off is $21.48.
Multiply 214.83 by 0.10 and then subtract that result from 214.83 to find the total you have to pay. Or just multiply 214.83 by 0.90.
just multiply 214.83 by 0.9 and you will have the answer

or wait for the bill
Just move the decimal point once to the left. Answer is 21.48
